DataFX - The JavaFX Enterprise Framework

The open source project DataFX 8 makes it easy for JavaFX developers to retrieve external data using REST calls database systems or custom methods and visualize this data in JavaFX controls. Using DataFX you can populate UI controls by using the most-common protocols including REST SSE or WebSocket. Apart from retrieving data the Flow component in DataFX enables developers to describe different flows between UI components and to inject data models into the flows. This session shows how the different DataFX components make it easy to manage external data by using well-known Java technologies. This talk gives a quick overview of DataFX by showing all the core features in an example application. Author: Johan Vos Johan Vos started to work with Java in 1995. He was part of the Blackdown team helping port Java to Linux. With LodgON the company he co-founded he is mainly working on Java based solutions for social networking software. Because he cant make a choice between embedded development and enterprise development his main focus is on end-to-end Java combining the strengths of back-end systems and embedded devices. His favourite technologies are currently Java EE Glassfish at the backend and JavaFX at the front-end. Johan is a Java Champion a member of the BeJUG steering group the Devoxx steering group and he is a JCP member.
